Right again.  Let's say that tc and dj are -widely- considered phonemes,
and, of course, dz is a pinyin spelling of an unaspirated ts, which to the
English ear sounds more like dz than an aspirated ts does.

Of course, maybe we can dispense with all of these affricates if we adopt
Javierspeak, because we'll have several more VV's to work with.  We'll have
Rob's 
a e i o u y ai ei oi au (these 4 spelled with j and w) ia ie io iu ua ue ui
uo,   (plus jy and wy)
plus
ja, je, jo, ju, wa, we wi wo

That's 28 of them, times 6 plosives, or 168.

And if that's not enough, we can prefix j and w to all the Vw's and Vj's,
for 8 more combos time 6 plosives or, 48 of them, plus 168 is 216, just the
right amount.

And, finally, we will have the exceptional names for letters,  many of which
of course have to begin with something other than plosives.
