Now, 'podorm' would mean more like 'be awake' than 'wake up,' but podormho would serve for the latter, and we'd have podormkaw for transitive 'wake up.' This avoids the paradox you found for 'bu', because causing someone to do the opposite of sleeping is the same thing as the opposite of causeing someone to sleep. I think.
