That's why I went for
zoi, han, du, tri, for, fay, ce, cil, pal, gaw...
How about changing
the vowel sounds in the numbers:
4
5
6
7
8 9 to
fou,
fai, cei, coi, pau, geu.
and when a consonant precedes these numbers, then the number represents only the diphthong: b4 [bou], b5 [bai], b6 [bei], b7 [boi], b8 [bau],
b9 [beu];
c4 [cou], c5 [cai], c6 [cei], c7
[coi], c8 [cau], c9 [ceu];
v4 [vou], v5 [vai], v6 [vei], v7
[voi], v8 [vau], v9 [veu];
f4 [fou], f5 [fai], f6 [fei], f7 [foi], f8 [fau],
f9 [feu];
g4 [gou], g5 [gai], g6 [gei], g7 [goi], g8 [gau],
g9[geu].

(Here's how it looks when those numbers are
employed to replace the five English
diphthongs.)
