Before we go any further, let's vote on these phonologies: 1. The original: cu = chew xu = shoe jo = joe There is no symbol for the sound in meaSure. Advantages. More compact, we avoid the Tx combo, and we avoid the /dZ/ /Z/ minimal pair potential, which, in my opinion, is a bad idea, i. e., it's rare to have that contrast in most languages I know about, but very common to contrast /tS/ and /S/. Disadvantages. Lack of symmetry. Necessity to ban the combo tx. or at least be sure to pronounce it "t'sh". Tho, come to think of it, it isn't going to occur accidentally. 2. Current idea: txu = chew xu = shoe meydjar = major meyjar = measure Advantages. Symmetry. Disadvantages. Basically the same as the 'advantages' above, plus having 'c' out there not meaning anything. An aside. One reason I don't want 'c' unused is that I want to be able to use scientific terminology -- Latin binomial nomenclature, I believe it's called. Of course, this calls for a special 't' word. (You may have noticed that the tN(N) words all have a the-ish meaning.) That will probably be twa. So you'd have a sentence like. Twa Homo Sapiens pia kyam pe. Homo sapiens is also called people. And, of course, 'c' will appear a lot in Latin. I'm babbling too much. Everybody please vote 1, 2, or neutral.
