A GZ files is a compressed file, not an audio file.  You need to
uncompress it first and then play the resulting WAV file.  Use whatever

Okay, that should be enough to get me started.  Normally the computer unzips files on its own (or so I thought), so I don't know how to do it, but I know someoneto ask.
