Others are: Amerind Conlangs: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/amerindconlangs -- based on languages of Native Americans Celticonlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Celticonlang -- based on Celtic languages East Asian Conlangs: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/eastasianconlangs -- based on a wide range of languages: from India to Pacifics, and from Siberia to Indonesia; you're from Japan, aren't you? so, your contibution will be much appreciated! Germaniconlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/germaniconlang -- based on Germanic languages Romanceconlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/romanceconlang -- based on Romance (that is, Latinide) languages Slaviconlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Slaviconlang -- a bit wider than the name means: these conlangs are based on Slavic, Baltic languages, and/or Greek Uraliconlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/uraliconlang -- based on Uralic languages PIEconlang: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/pieconlang -- based on Prto-Indo-European All those groups are pretty silent. You won't get more than 20 msg altogether in one day (that's from my experience). It's, certainly, the Main List - CONLANG at listserv.brown.edu - that may kill you. Average traffic there is 100 msg/day. To subscribe, you need to send a msg with "SUBSCRIBE CONLANG <your_name>" to listserv@hidden.email . After you get "output of your job" (a response), you can start posting to conlang@hidden.email . I'm nomail there now, but it's real fun, if you have enough time! > hoping to come across bloodshed-free (and/or religion-free) languages > someday. <g> ??? :totally confused: > Looking forward to hearing news of Newgaritic soon! Hehe. Trying to map 8 vowel phonemes to 7 types of characters is difficult. Chotto muzukashii n da yo! > With much higher respect, yoroshiku! > Kay Best regards, -- Yitzikfrom Ukraine
