Where would Dravean be spoken? I like it, that you are making a language with big Retoromance influence. Are you inspired by other conlangs? That is an important question in this topic.

Dravean is spoken in Dravea (where else?), which is located in the west of the Pannonian plain, in a rough triangle whose borders are formed by the Danube, the river Drava (hence the name) and Lake Balaton. For reference, the following link is to a map of the alt- Europe in which Dravean is spoken:

As can be seen, Dravea is a good distance from the Swiss Raetoromance speaking areas. The influence of Raetoromance on Dravean I have perhaps misstated: the influence is one of inspiration, rather than that of a neighbouring language (just as, say, Wenedyk is "influenced" by Polish). However, I do not think it is implausible to posit a Romance-speaking dialect continuum including the northern Balkans, Noricum and Pannonia, which was interrupted by the intrusion of Germanic and Slavic speakers, and subsequently leaving Romance- speaking "islands" in Dalmatia, Romania, Switzerland and Dravea. There is indeed OTL evidence for a Romance-speaking community in western Pannonia before the arrival of the Hungarians, after all.

Am I inspired by other conlangs? To a degree, yes, in that I can find the work of other conlangers thought-provoking, and an impetus for examining areas of my own conlangs that had hitherto been neglected. Benct's Rhodrese, for example, is a major inspiration to me. On the other hand, I've never consciously "borrowed" from other conlangs, nor based my work upon theirs.
