Re: What are '-avi', '-evi', '-ivi' pronounced like?



What I mean was something like 'v' followed a diphthong made of 'u' and 'i'. The text said, that the spelling was caused by a tendency not to write two letters of the same kind following. There is something like that in 'cuius' which only sometimes written as 'cuiius'. But according to what you say '-vi' is standard, so it is good enough for me.
