Affirmative.  According to the Academie Fran�aise, there was a Popular
Latin form _cascunum_ "crossed from _quisque (unus)_ ... and _catunum_..." 

I wonder if <aliquid unum> might have had something to do with it too.



The thing is that QUISQUE UNUS 'every' and CATA UNUM 'each'
are much closer to each other in meaning than ALIQUI UNUS
'someone' is.  E.g. Italian usually uses _ogni_ < OMNES
for both 'each' and 'every'.  Italian _ciascuno_ with initial
/tS/ indeed looks like a loan from Middle French.  There
are tons of those in Italian.
