Well, the explination I had in mind derived from the
comments of the Karaite pages I visited about
resistance to the rabinical Exarchate being especially
stiff in the eastern provinces of the Arab empire. 
Their claim was that Jews in the . . . Wait a minute. 
Carraxa is WEST of Babylon.  Which circuit of my brain
was totally misfiring that day!?!?!?!?

Okay.  Back to square one on Carraxan Judaism.

Anyone have *any* info on *here*'s Maghrebi Jews
