Nihil nimis (nothing to excess) is the way to go!
Sounds like what can happen to any number of
artists and other intense types (could be
writers, accountants or doctors). What you
describe sounds a lot like workaholism - where
someone is so deep into their career or job that
they spend all their time and energy on it and
neglect family and life in general.

This should NOT be confused with a healthy focus
on the art. The difference is that when you're
healthily focused on art, you still pay attention
to family, life and other things.

Sounds like a good plan. Admission of the problem
is the first (and often most difficult) step.
Sounds like you'll do alright! If you're a
scheduling type person, you might want to set a
limited time to persue your language.

Nope.
