--- Adam Walker skrzypszy: > Since we're all busy translating Anjou, I thought why not ask you all how > you would say Carthage in your languages. Carthage in Carthaginian is > Carraju. The adjective forms are carrajenu, carrajena, carrajeni and the > language is al limba Carrajena. The name of the city in Wenedyk would probably be "Kartago", i.e. the Latin name with only the spelling adaptated. The adjective form would be "kartaz.an" [kar"taz`an], fem. "kartaz.ana" [karta"z`ana]. "The Carthaginian language" would be: "Le,gwa kartaz.ana" ["lENgva karta"z`ana]. <z.> should be read as: Polish z-with-dot <e,> should be read as: e-ogonek I haven't really worked out the conventions for deriving adjectives from geographicals names, though. So nothing of the above is definitive. Jan ===== "Originality is the art of concealing your source." - Franklin P. Jones __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
