Jan eskrë » > Any type of conlang has its own problems in word creation. In the case of > Wenedyk, my main problem was that I want the vocabulary to be based on Vulgar > Latin and not on Classical Latin. Hence, my Latin dictionaries are of little > use. Often, I work with four dictionaries at hand: Classical Latin, French, > Italian, and Romanian. Sometimes Portuguese or Rhaeto-Romance, too. I heard recently (on TV I think) that Sardinian is considered 'closest to' Vulgar Latin. Can you tell me if that statement was right? I once met an old chap who would read Romanian publications. He said he could easily understand it because it was so similar to the VL he'd learnt (for religious reasons, liturgies or something, I don't recall). Is this making any sort of sense?
