I certainly didn't draw it carefully. I made an end run around the pen and just drew it on the computer. I'm not sure the implication is linguistic. It's basically a lie, of course, but that's the idea. Instead of saying "zi poseyn, kay zisa bol bepronunfey," she instead falsely implies that she'll get back to him on it.
