Teach, learn

How's this for a pattern.

jyaw (from Mandarin jiao for 'teach')

direct object is the subject matter.

go jyaw japanzobol. I teach japanese.

go jyaw japanzobol (ko) zi. I teach japanese to you.

(the idea being that it's okay for terse speech to just have the indirect object follow the direct one, but ko can be added for clarity)

Then we reverse it to

jway - to learn

go jway japanzobol. I learn japanese.

And, I think, legit to have zi follow meaning 'from you'.
