Well, if letters are going to have similar-looking
names, in the manner of Lojban and Esperanto, then I'd
rather vote for Lojban's option of simply adding a schwa
to the consonants: by, cy, dy... I think the resulting
spelling-out of words and names sounds better that way
than having the same diphthong repeated once and over
again. Compare saying, e.g. NBC as "naj baj caj" or
"nuj buj cuj" with saying it as "ny by cy"; I at least
find the second way less jarring.
