With the context clues, this works seems to work > to me. I think your proposal would be pretty much equivalent to make <c> stand for a glottal stop. BTW, has anybody noticed the proposal I made several messages above?: <c> = /S/ -- <tc> /tS/ <j> = /j/ <x> = /Z/ -- <dx> /dZ/ <y> = schwa With that orthography the name of the language would be Tceqli.
