tense after "kavapoy"

The note at "covi" in LE and in Lesson 18 says "Literally, "kavapoy" means 'cause the embedded event to happen'."
All the examples of "kavapoy" have no explicit tense in the embedded clause, so presumably the embedded clauses are past tense. Shouldn't there be a present or future tense in the embedded clause? Or is the tense somehow implied by the imperative, since it's like deontic obligation?
Kavapoy dezogamba covi lifimi bujisi = Let's put the books on the table.
Kavapoy fucala covi = Let's eat.
Kavapoy xenkopa covi bikumi tomo ximyu businza lijoybegi como bihi = Let's be grateful for everything that our doctors did.
