(Personal pro)nouns end in "i"... in Esperanto.

But the "i" of the personal pronouns is not an ending, it's part of the root.  Endings are added on after the "i":  mi - I, min - me, mia - my.  
One can make a verb out of "mi" by adding the infinitive ending: "mii" ?= 'to be me'.

So there is really no dual use of ending "i" in Esperanto.
